All students in CAD design class were tasked with creating a custom part or assembly from scratch. The project included all learned modeling techniques used in a top-down design approach using SOLIDWORKS.
My project included using two server grade power supplies to create a single output switching power supply. This provided the opportunity to use end-of-life server components that would’ve been destined to waste coupled with a few other off-the-shelf components it made a perfect benchtop power supply.
This project could’ve never of been completed without giving credit where credit is due. ISDT provided all of the design inspiration. The minimalistic monolithic design provides a unique visual to have on top of a workbench.
